15 Powerful Prayers You Can Say In Just 15 Seconds!

by Faith & Life, February, Prayer

There have been many days when I was on the verge of losing my mind due to obsessive tattling, the never-ending muddy footprints on my hardwood floors and the bloodcurdling shriek of a toddler being tortured by her big brothers. During those moments, I could only mutter a simple prayer: “Come, Holy Spirit.” This was the only prayer I could say to bring about the peace needed to correct my children’s behavior without screaming.

There are certain moments in life when a short prayer is what we need to restore our focus on God and bring forth a sense of calm.  It may be in a situation in which we are too overcome with grief, fear, or anxiety to think beyond a few words. Sometimes we are in a hurry to get out the door on our way to work or when we need to offer a quick prayer as the teacher passes out a final exam. Whatever the reason, God has told us that the length of our prayer is not as important as the heart behind our prayer.

“In praying, do not babble like the pagans, who think that they will be heard because of their many words. – Matthew 6:7
